computer = ?
SO I haven't been online in the past, like, weel or so because while yes, I did get the new parts for my PC, they don't play well together. I cannot boot, basically. The best I've gotten is using the new MOBO and CPU with the old video card I can get to windows, but my mouse does not work, and neither do my optical drives. The BIOS recognizes them, cause if I go into it at startup I can see them. Also, it will randomly either lock up during boot up, or sometimes do nothing (I get no picture on my monitor.)

I tried to boot from my windows XP CD to reinstall (w/out reformatting) but it will not boot from the CD. That's not to say it won't boot from the optical drives, because it will. I successfully ran memchecker from a CD. And yes, tyhe new RAM is fine.

I don't know what's wrong, and apparantly I am incapable of fixing what it is. I wish the BIOS CD was able to be booted from, so I can install the new drivers BEFORE I go into windows, since once I'm there I can't do anything. I really just want to smash it all with a baseball bat, cause really, it won't work any worse in a thousand pieces than it is right now.

Oh, and my laptop is broken too. The video adapter went. I can see stuff on the screen till I get to windows, then nothing. I can see the IBM logo when I boot, and even the XP logo and that little blue bar at the bottom of it, but once windows actually starts, nada. And it won't work on my external monitor, either, so it's the adapter (or it's drivers), not the screen.

I just dropped a bunch of money on new computer stuff and I seriously hope I don't run into a fraction of the problems you've had.
